Just finished this big project with www.paintencinitas.org and it was a big success. Stoked on the positive vibes and support! The time-lapse was shot on a couple GoPro Hero 3+ cams on 10 second intervals.
I've been working on a new mural in Leucadia, California in conjunction with www.paintencinitas.org. This story just came out in the Encinitas Advocate and it was a nice little piece about the mural and what we are doing. http://www.encinitasadvocate.com/news/2014/jun/25/leucadia-mural-skye-walker-art/
Just painted a mural next to Birds Surf Shed in San Diego, CA. A one day shot a doing a rad wave mural in tribute to the coastline of San Diego. Waves, sun, pelicans and barrels.
Really excited to announce that the good people at Mizu asked me to join them as a Mizu Advocate. Couldn't be happier about this venture working with great people doing great things for this planet. www.mizulife.com
Just created this fun piece for the cover page of the third volume of Swell Lines that's set to drop at any second! My buddies have been working on overtime to create a sweet online mag dedicated to the craft, adventures and science of body surfing. Check it out: http://swelllinesmag.com
Mizu threw a nice post up on Instagram of me the other day in front of the mural I painted at the San Diego Surf Film Festival. Good people at Mizu doing good things. Check them out at: www.mizulife.com
I've been art directing the 2014 San Diego Surf Film Festival for a few months now and it's going down next week. Some of the swag I designed, including the event art "Reeling Barrel" includes the limited edition New Era hat, limited edition poster, MIZU water bottle, program, stickers and limited t-shirt. It's been a lot of work, but a lot of fun too. www.sandiegosurffilmfestival.com
Getting up super early to get in the ocean and look into some beautiful barrels is always a great way to get the day going and the creative juices flowing. Hitting the bottom a couple times just lets you know you're not dreaming. Photo thanks to: PMK
Got a little write up in Mizu's new catalog with the bottle art I designed. Stoked to be working with these guys.
The creative bug is back and I'm working on some new pieces for the upcoming San Diego Surf Film Festival VIP art show. I'll also have new prints and other goodies at the actual film festival starting on May 8, 2014 at Birds Surf Shed. Check it out at: www.sandiegosurffilmfestival.com
New bottles I designed for Coast Law Group in Encinitas, CA to take down and hand out at SIMA in Cabo this year. Cut down on one time plastic use bottles and look good at the same time.
Just took a quick trip to the mountains to score some fresh powder and clear the mind... nothing better than a pow day for that.
Just finished a couple fresh murals for Mesa Rim Climbing Gym in San Diego, CA. Really opens the space up and the climbers are stoked! The VW bus was a hit. www.mesarim.com
Adding some more murals to Mesa Rim Climbing Gym in Mira Mesa, CA. It's really coming together in there now... get in there and climb! www.mesarim.com
I recently did some bottle graphics for MIZU, which is a super rad company. They want to get these bottles in peoples hands instead of plastic bottles that destroy our environment. Great product and great cause. Check them out at: https://www.mizulife.com
Every year in Encinitas, California the Downtown Encinitas Mainstreet Association has local artists paint banners that are hung up along HWY 101 in Encintas and Leucadia. Here is my contribution this year called "Majesty".
Coming up with some fun black and white ink ideas for an upcoming show... finally filing out this Moleskin sketchbook properly...
Excited to be sketching again, and doing a lot of it in black and white ink. More to come...
I'm honored and stoked to be Art Directing the 2014 San Diego Surf Film Festival. Here is the fresh new poster for this year as well as a slightly revamped SDSFF logo made famous by Joe Hodnicki. Gonna' be a good time starting on May 7, 2014!
Well, it's been a long time coming, but it's time to start things off right with a fresh new website. Check it out... more work to come!
